Lead Apron Hanger
It doesn’t matter how you take x-rays—digital or analog, you are still stuck with messy lead aprons, and you shouldn't force your staff to drag them from room to room. Further, as you know, if you fold them they crack and let radiation in. So you need a hanger. The commercially available hangers are flimsy and have to be mounted on bracket plates. The ugly things cost $20, but then it takes another $20-$30 to mount a backer and paint, etc (we've all tried to do this with plastic wall anchors - we know how that worked out after a year or two!). We wanted a clean looking unit that was simple to mount. By tripling the strength of the basic unit, we were able to mount on a single wall stud. Installation takes two minutes and the end result is much better looking. |
